Belmar will host bocce tournaments during the 2-day Italian Food and Wine Festival, September 20-21, 2008. All tournaments will take place on the SE corner of Alaska Drive and Saulsbury Street in Belmar. On Saturday, teams formed from Colorado's Italian American Organizations will compete in the Italian-American Bocce Tournament. For Sunday's tournament, anyone can form a team and play in the Italian Lover's Bocce Tournament. The winning team from Saturday's tournament will return on Sunday afternoon to play the winner of the Italian Lover's Tournament. The grand prize of $500 will be awarded to the winning team at 4:15 PM on Sunday.

The cost to register a team is $60/team and all teams must register by August 31, 2008 to play. No previous bocce experience or knowledge of the game is required- just come out and have fun! If your team interested in competing in either tournament, please click below for one of the registration forms and return it by August 31st with your $60 payment. Cash and checks made out to Belmar will be accepted.

Entry rules for the Bocce at Belmar Tournaments are as follows:

  • The tournaments are open to teams of all skill levels! No previous experience necessary.
  • The Italian-American Organizations Tournament is ONLY open to members of Colorado's registered Italian-American organizations.
  • All members of any given team in the Italian-American Tournament MUST belong to the same Italian-American organization.
  • Anyone can participate in the Italian Lover's Tournament
  • NO members of any team can be registered to play in both the Italian-American Bocce and the Italian Lover's Tournaments
  • All teams must consist of 4 players (you may also have 2 alternates).

Teams are accepted on a first-come, first serve basis based on time of registration. If the tournament schedule is full upon receipt of your registration form and payment, your check or cash will be returned to you in full.
